South Africa’s Caster Semenya is on top form with an impressive build up for the Rio Olympics.
The 25-year-old was faster than two former world champions during Africa’s first Diamond League meeting on Sunday.
It was the best time of the year and a second successive Diamond League win this year for Semenya, who also has plans to run the 400m in Rio.

Almaz Ayana of Ethiopia was impressive in the 5000 metres race making it in front of a close to 22,000 crowd.
Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson won the women’s 100 metres race, Thompson aged 23, won silver in the 200m at the 2015 World Championships,
Columbia’s two time world champion Catherine Inbarguen defeated Yu ilmar Rojas of Venezuela in the triple jump. American LaShawn Meritt was outstanding in the men’s 400 metres.
The Diamond League moves to the United States for the next meeting on Saturday May 28.
